Be there or be square!

It’s on over Easter.

World Music and Folk at 15 venues in the Canberra Showground.

Enjoy Masterclasses on instruments and singing and take the kids to the kids program.

Book your Canberra accommodation (we always book at least 3 nights in a lovely hotel and just enjoy Canberra) early in January 2017. Leave it too late and you will be restricted to accommodation deals and availability.

We have been loving this wonderful musical event at the Canberra Showground for over 20 years. We try not to miss an Easter. My daughter, when young was taken to many events here and has memories of sleeping on my knee late at night while I watched, fascinated by Hungarian folk bands or the poetry debates or the Budawang Saturday night program. Geoff and I have been up until 1am raging with the bands in a beer garden tent.

I am told the camping area can be noisy with enthusiastic musicians jamming away, but there is a booked and pre-setup tent area if you want to be close to the action.

I prefer this event because it is family orientated and for everyone. I have been to Woodford Festival but prefer the Canberra event. For me the Byron Bay Blues Festival is too far from Sydney and too crowded for a short visit.

You can visit SF Museum of Modern Art, Tidbinbilla deep tracking station, National Art Gallery of Australia, National Science and Technology Centre and the list is endless. there is something for everyone in Canberra. We have been taking our kids there for 40 years and love the place. Love the ambience of the old CBD plaza space for coffee and you are spoilt for choice eating in Watson (near NFF) or many little suburban restaurants.

Golf in Scotland & Ireland

With a legacy spanning six centuries, there is no finer place to play golf than Scotland, the country that gave the game to the world.
Ireland is home to over 400 golf clubs, including a third of the world’s natural links courses, and a selection of exceptional championship courses in amazing locations, so it’s no wonder that every year over 240,000 golfers from all over the world come to the island of Ireland’s greens to experience the impressive but unforgiving fairways.
